At Norton Dental Hamilton, our dentists uphold the philosophy of providing patient-focused care and quality dental results. Periodontic treatment is used to decrease the risk of infection and disease, minimize inflammation, prevent and treat gum disease and gingivitis, and promote the re-attachment of healthy gums to teeth. Periodontal treatment is based on the stage of gum disease, your response to previous treatments, and your overall health.

When plaque and bacteria are not removed daily from your teeth and gums with regular brushing and flossing, they are left to harden and turn into calculus which irritates the gums and causes gingivitis. Once calculus has formed it can only be safely removed by a dental professional.

Gum disease is the leading cause of tooth loss in adults. Gum disease occurs when gingivitis develops and is left untreated. If allowed to progress, gum disease may lead to serious oral issues.

Periodontal symptoms may include swollen and/or tender gums, loose teeth, gum recession, and constant bleeding when flossing or brushing.

Our office offers a number of periodontal treatments, both surgical and nonsurgical including dental implants, flap surgery, root scaling and planing, and tissue regeneration.

We offer sedation dentistry for apprehensive patients so they may receive the dental care they need in comfort.

Our dentists advise patients to receive dental checkups and professional teeth cleaning every six months to help reduce the risk of future oral issues. To schedule your periodontal consult, call (905) 388-7330.

Dental Implants

At Norton Dental Hamilton, Dr. Taimish provides dental implant procedures for patients suffering from tooth loss or missing teeth. A dental implant procedure uses an artificial tooth root that is surgically placed in the jaw bone with a dental crown or dental bridge secured on top to restore one or more missing teeth. We also offer Permanent Teeth In A day and All-On-Four dental implant procedures.

The most vital of all dental implant stages is called osseointegration, in which the dental implant becomes permanently fused with the jaw bone and tissue.

A dental crown is then placed on top and secured by a implant post to achieve an aesthetic and natural-looking smile. Dental implants may be completed in as little as one or two appointments!

Smoking may cause decreased jaw bone density, making the dental implant procedure more complex. However our dentists possess the experience and expertise to help maximize bone tissue for successful dental implant placement. Dental implant risks are uncommon, occurring less than 5 percent. Smoking may interfere with recovery and healing. Your dentist may suggest quitting smoking before performing the procedure.

The type of implant, the number of teeth being treated, and any further treatment needed will determine your dental implant price. To schedule your dental implant oral surgery appointment, call (905) 388-7330.
