Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry is mainly concerned with the aesthetic appearance of teeth. Using conservative dentistry techniques and patient-focused care at Norton Dental Hamilton, we are able to provide natural and beautiful looking results.

We believe that a great looking smile starts with healthy gums and teeth. During your consult, your dentist will evaluate your teeth and gums to check for any signs of gum disease or decay. If any oral health issues are identified, they may need to be treated before proceeding with your cosmetic dentistry procedure, to help ensure you receive the best possible results.

Our dentist provides patients with a number of cosmetic dentistry procedures such as gum reshaping, tooth colored fillings, invisalign, dental bridges, dental crowns, porcelain veneers, dental bonding, and smile makeovers.

Some cosmetic dentistry procedures may be completed in a single appointment. We also offer sedation dentistry for more complex procedures.

Depending on the type of cosmetic dentistry procedure, the number of teeth being treated, and you dental insurance coverage, cosmetic dentistry treatment cost may vary. To schedule your cosmetic dentistry appointment, call (905) 388-7330.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are contact-thin shells designed to match the shape and size of your natural teeth. At Norton Dental Hamilton, our dentists believe that a healthy, vibrant, and youthful looking smile may promote a boost in self confidence.

Severe discoloration, irregularly shaped teeth, worn down teeth, and broken/chipped teeth may benefit from porcelain veneers. Porcelain veneers, with proper oral hygiene, can last up to 10 years.

Porcelain veneers are made to replicate the color and shine of your natural teeth and do not stain. The entire veneers procedure may be completed in as little as one or two dental appointments. We will re-check all porcelain veneers before they are bonded to ensure a natural-looking result.

During your consult, one of our dentists, will determine your candidacy for porcelain veneers and explain porcelain veneer pros and cons.

We strive to accommodate patient needs by facilitating a comfortable, welcoming environment. Porcelain veneer cost depends on the number of teeth being treated. To schedule your porcelain veneer consult, call (905) 388-7330.

Crown and Bridge

Dental crown procedures are used to correct cracked, discolored, misshapen, and damaged teeth. A dental crown is also used in root canal procedures, this helps to protect the weakened tooth from further infection and damage.  A dental crown, unlike porcelain veneers, completely encircles the tooth above the gum line.

A dental crown may be made from a variety of materials, we offer quality dental crowns made of materials that provide aesthetic, durable, and long lasting results.

A dental bridge is used to secure an artificial tooth to a neighboring tooth and can be made from variety of materials. A dental bridge procedure restores a patients’ ability to eat and speak normally. Dental bridges also help to prevent teeth from shifting and crowding, and can replace one or more missing teeth.

Before securing a dental bridge or dental crown, our dentists carefully check each restoration to ensure a correct color match and fit. After making any needed adjustments, the dental crown or dental bridge is then properly secured for a natural and aesthetic result.

Improper hygiene may result in dental bridge complications. As with untreated teeth, dental restorations must be cleaned daily to prevent bacteria buildup from getting underneath the restoration and creating further damage. Our dentists can fix and re-cement your dental bridge if it becomes loose or falls out.

The number of teeth being treated, any additional treatments, and the material being used determine dental bridge or dental crown cost. Call (905) 388-7330 to schedule your dental crown or dental bridge appointment.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is used to remove unwanted discoloration and stains from teeth. A beautiful, white smile can improve the overall appearance of teeth, making them look more youthful and healthy. Teeth whitening is one of our most frequently performed cosmetic dentistry procedures.

Due to the changes in the mineral structure of teeth as you grow older, teeth may appear darker or duller. Smoking, poor oral hygiene, and ingesting darkly colored liquids may also lead to stains and discoloration on your teeth.

We perform in-office teeth whitening treatments, such as Zoom!, which work by using highly concentrated hydrogen peroxide gel. The gel may be reapplied by our skilled dentist up to three times, in 15 minute intervals, within one office visit. Our in-office treatment may whiten teeth up to eight shades! We also offer take-home teeth whitening kits so you can whiten your teeth at home and easily maintain your smile.

Our dentists provide custom dental trays for our take-home teeth whitening kits, which include professional grade hydrogen peroxide gel. Our professional teeth whitening kits are twice as effective as over-the-counter kits.

Many media websites may claim to offer natural teeth whitening home remedies, although even simple ingredients may cause future oral health issues if not applied properly. Ingredients such as lemon juice, which is highly acidic, can wear down tooth enamel. Our dentists advise patients to consult with a professional before performing these methods.

Some helpful teeth whitening tips include drinking darkly colored liquids through a straw and avoiding smoking.

If you want to achieve the star-worthy smile our dentists believe you deserve, schedule your teeth whitening appointment by calling (905) 388-7330 today.
